Urad Dal Split with Skin (also known as Urad Dal Chilka) is a variety of Urad Dal that is split into two halves but still retains the outer black skin. This type of dal is commonly used in Indian cooking and is prized for its earthy, rich flavor and texture. It is different from the Urad Dal Split Without Skin (Dhuli) and the whole urad dal, as the skin adds a slightly different taste and texture to the dish.
Characteristics of Urad Dal Split with Skin:
- Color: The dal retains its outer black or dark brown skin, making it look like a speckled, two-toned dal (white inside and dark outside).
- Shape: It is split into two halves, but the skin remains intact, unlike the peeled version of urad dal.
- Texture: The skin gives it a slightly firmer texture compared to split urad dal without skin. When cooked, the dal has a slightly grainy feel and holds its shape well, although it still becomes soft and tender.

Returns Policy
